NFL Notes for Tuesday, Owens Likely Out for Rest of Preseason

Today the Dallas Cowboys announced that newcomer Terrel Owens will not play in any of the 4 Cowboy preseason games due to a hamstring injury. The former all pro receiver won’t make his debut until week 1 of the regular season against Jacksonville. An MRI on Saturday showed no structural damage but Owens has been bothered by the injury enough to cause for concern. Because of this 2 personal trainers and a doctor are on their way to assist Owens in Dallas. The Cowboys open their preseason schedule against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday.

3 time pro bowler Daunte Culpepper may make his Miami Dolphin debut on Saturday against Jacksonville in preseason week 1. It was just 10 months ago that Culpepper tore 3 ligaments in his knee. Head Coach Nick Saban said he would make the final call on starting Dante later this week.

In other news Arizona Cardinal Matt Leinart still remains the only first round draft pick unsigned. The player and team are still arguing over guaranteed money.

Out of Denver Bell is number 1 on the Bronco running back chart, but it is not Tatum Bell, but Mike Bell. Mike Bell is an un-drafted free agent from the university of Arizona. Bell racked up 950 yards and 5 TD’s for Arizona in his senior season. Mike Bell beat out Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne to be named the starter.

Finally Washington Redskin safety Sean Taylor has been fined 4 game checks for pleading no contest in June to misdemeanor accounts of assault and battery. He won’t be suspended, and even has a chance to recoup a portion of the 71K he was fined with good behavior.
