The 4-3 Washington Redskins and 3-4 Cincinnati Bengals meet Sunday in London. The Redskins are tied for third and last with the New York Giants in the NFC East. The Bengals are tied with the Ravens for second in the AFC, but both teams are only a game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is the first time that two division winners from the previous season are meeting in one of the NFL’s international games.

Cincinnati leads the series 5-4 against Washington. The Bengals have won three straight games in the series including 38-31 in Washington in 2012. The last four games in this series have been decided by exactly 7 points.

Washington is coached by Jay Gruden, who used to be the offensive coordinator for Cincinnati. The Redskins have home losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-16 and Dallas Cowboys 27-23, plus a road loss to the Detroit Lions 20-17 last week. The loss to Detroit snapped a four game winning streak for the Redskins. Washington has road wins at the New York Giants 29-27 and Baltimore Ravens 16-10, plus home wins over the Cleveland Browns 31-20 and Philadelphia Eagles 27-20. Washington was a one point favorite against Detroit and the total was 50. The Redskins are 4-3 ATS and the total is 5-2 this season.

Cincinnati is coached by Marvin Lewis. The Bengals have a road win over the New York Jets 23-22, plus home wins over the Miami Dolphins 22-7 and Cleveland Browns 31-17 last week. Cincinnati has a home loss to the Denver Broncos 29-17, plus road losses to the Steelers 24-16, Dallas Cowboys 28-14 and New England Patriots 35-17. All four losses are to teams currently in first place in their division or at least tied for the lead. The Bengals were -11 against the winless Browns and the total was 46.5. Cincinnati is 3-4 ATS and the total is 4-3 this season.

While every team has injuries this time of year, Washington has been racked by injuries to not only the skill positions bit on defense as well. I don’t trust the Bengals very much, but I think they win this game in what should be a high scoring game.
