The Ohio State Buckeyes won Week 1 and Week 2 by a combined score of 87-21, shutting out its Week 2 opponent, Cincinnati. This week OSU travels to face conference-rival Indiana as 15.5-point favorites. The over/under is set at 61 points according to NCAA Football oddsmakers at 5dimes. The game kicks off at 11 AM CST Saturday on FOX.

OSU

Ohio State pounded the Cincinnati Bearcats in Week 2. The Buckeyes got 224 passing yards and two touchdowns from Justin Fields while it managed another 270 yards via the rush. JK Dobbins led the Buckeyes with 141 rushing yards and two TDs, while Fields rushed nine times for 42 yards and a pair of TDs, as well.

The Buckeyes held Cincy to just 283 total yards and no scores. The wide receivers were led by Binjimen Victor’s five catches for 69 yards. KJ Hill (eight catches, 57 yards) had a TD reception as did Garrett Wilson (his only catch). OSU’s defense looked a lot better than its Week 1 showing when it surrendered 21 points to Florida Atlantic. In that game, the Buckeyes gave up 206 passing yards and 22 rushing yards, but it allowed a pair of offensive touchdowns from the Owls. If Ohio State shows up more as it did in week 2 against Indiana this week, it can cover the spread. The defense will be the biggest factor because Ohio State’s offense is already rounding well into form.

IU

Indiana is 2-0 after wins over Ball State in Week 1 and a win over Eastern Illinois in Week 2. Indiana thus far has been dominant, but its competition has been quite lackluster. This is its chance to make a huge statement against an AP Ranked conference opponent, and even being two-TD-plus dogs should not discourage the Hoosiers.

In its 52-0 win over Eastern Illinois, Peyton Ramsey and Michael Penix Jr were both sensational in the pocket. Ramsey threw 13 of 14 for completion, amassing 226 yards and two touchdowns. Penix nearly matched him with a 70 percent ratio, 197 yards, and two more TDs. It is hard to say there is a controversy at quarterback with both potential starters performing that well. Jack Tuttle seems to have fallen out of the picture, though he did attempt seven passes in Week 2.

Stevie Scott led all rushers with 61 yards on a 5.1 yard-per-carry average while scoring a touchdown. Though Indiana had 441 passing yards, it was good for just 114 on the ground and only averaged 3.1 yards-per-attempt. Of course, the fact that it was able to limit the Panthers to just 116 total yards of offense made it something of a non-issue. That will not be the case against a much tougher contender in the Buckeyes.
