Michigan State had its six-game win streak snapped in suffering a 49-37 defeat to the Ohio State Buckeyes as 3.5-point home favorites last week, while going OVER the betting total for the eighth time in nine opportunities.  The Spartans are 21-9 SU in Big Ten Conference road games under head coach Mark Dantonio, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 12 NCAA football betting picks, which includes an eight-game win streak in that situation.  Michigan State is 8-0 SU and 6-2 ATS as road favorites since the start of the 2012 campaign.

The Spartans have produced an 18-6 mark in the month of November under Dantonio, which is important to consider when looking over the NCAA football betting lines.  Michigan State has already scored 401 points through nine games, which is the fifth most in a single-season in school history.  The unit leads the Big Ten and ranks ninth in the county in averaging 517.6 yards per game, with quarterback Connor Cook throwing for 2,226 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Maryland has alternated wins and losses over its last five contests, as it looks to build off a 20-19 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions as three-point road underdogs, while it has been out-gained in six of seven affairs.  The Terrapins have scored 33 touchdowns this season in five different ways, while placekicker Brad Craddock is a perfect 14-for-14 in field goals.  Defensively, the team has racked up 18 sacks in conference play, which is tied for second with Wisconsin in that category over that span.  Maryland is 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in its last five games following a bye week.

The Terrapins are on pace for a total of 24 takeaways, which would be the highest figure for the program since 2011.  Maryland is averaging 30.3 points and 353.9 yards per game, but it’s defense has allowed opponents to gain 431.8 yards a contest.  Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is the main player to watch in this matchup, as he’s gained 3,968 all-purpose yards in his career.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 4-0 in the Spartans last four games after allowing 450-plus yards.
