The Wisconsin Badgers have a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate in the backfield
The Wisconsin Badgers have a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate in the backfield

Wisconsin has won five of its last six games, including a 52-7 blowout victory over the Maryland Terrapins last time out, while it out-gained all of its opponents in that period of time.  The Badgers are one of four teams nationally to rank among the FBS top 15 in all four major defensive categories, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NCAA football betting lines, while they rank behind just six teams in surrendering just 16.1 points per game.  Wisconsin is 5-3 SU and 4-4 ATS in November the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 5-3 in that situation

The Badgers are led by Heisman Trophy candidate Melvin Gordon offensively, which is important to consider when making your NCAA football betting picks, as he ranks second in the country in gaining 166.9 yards per game on the ground.  With 17 total touchdowns, Gordon also leads all player in scoring 14.6 points per game.  As a team, Wisconsin is averaging 338.4 rushing yards per game, which has been made possible by averaging 7.22 yards per attempt.

Rutgers returns home after dropping back-to-back road games to the Ohio State Buckeyes and Nebraska Cornhuskers, as it was out-gained by a triple-digit margin in each of those affairs.  The Scarlet Knights can become bowl eligible for the ninth time in 10 seasons with a victory in this spot, while it can match last year’s win total in the process.  The program is in the middle of a three-game stretch against the top three running backs in the nation.  Rutgers is 12-5 SU and 7-10 ATS at home the last two-plus seasons.

The Scarlet Knights are 21-5 in the last four seasons when attempting at least 35 rushes in a game, while they’ve scored on 23 of their 26 trips inside the red zone.  Rutgers is one of 21 teams in the Power 5 Conferences to reach the postseason in at least eight of the last nine seasons.  Offensively, the team will attempt to reach the 20-point mark, as it has won 18 of its last 21 contests when accomplishing that feat.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the UNDER is 7-1 in the Scarlet Knights last eight games in November.
