The Gonzaga Bulldogs have gone UNDER the total in their last three games as home favorites of 9.5 to 12 points

West Virginia will be looking to gain revenge from a 77-54 blowout loss to Gonzaga in last year’s NCAA Second Round game in Pittsburgh, as the squad connected on just 16-of-49 field-goal attempts.  The Mountaineers definitely have a new look on their bench, as they welcome in three transfers in hopes of replacing star Kevin Jones, who was the Big East Conference’s leading scorer and rebounder.  “Transfers can work,” stated Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins.  West Virginia is 8-13 ATS on the road the last two-plus years, which is an important angle to handicap when making your NCAA basketball predictions.

The Mountaineers have gone 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games as a road underdog of 9.5 to 12 points, which will make them an attractive bet when looking at the college basketball odds page.  West Virginia returns three starters and seven lettermen from a year ago, as it looks to improve upon its 52-11 record in non-conference action during the regular season under Huggins’ watch.  The program was picked to finish sixth in its first year in the Big 12 Conference.

Gonzaga tallied an impressive 103-65 season-opening win over Southern Utah as 22.5-point home favorites on Friday night, as the team won the battle in the paint by a 66-28 margin.  The Bulldogs were very pleased with the production they received from center Przemek Karnowski, finishing with a team-high 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting, while playing a major role in the team’s 23 second-chance points.  Gonzaga is 1-2 ATS as a home favorite of 9.5 to 12 points, while the UNDER is 0-3 in that situation.

The Bulldogs shot 56.0 percent and received double-digit scoring efforts from Gary Bell Jr., Kevin Pangos and Elias Harris in last year’s postseason victory against the Mountaineers.  Gonzaga has a great chance to pick up another win in this series, considering that West Virginia has dropped eight of its last nine games versus ranked opponents, including losses in the last five opportunities.

Sports bettors will likely play the total in this non-conference affair, as the UNDER is 0-3 in the Bulldogs last three meetings versus Big 12 foes.
