Boston has won eight of its last nine games, including a 71-69 victory over the Chicago Bulls as 2.5-point home favorites six days ago, while going UNDER the total in two consecutive contests.  The Celtics have been battling through numerous injuries recently, which is important to consider when looking at the pro basketball odds page over the next few weeks.  Offensively, the team is led by veterans Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who combine to average 33.6 points per game.  Boston is 1-3 SUATS as road underdogs of 6.5 to 9 points this season.

The Celtics are 8-15 overall on the road this season, including an 0-5 mark versus Western Conference opponents.  Boston earned a 118-114 triple-overtime victory over Denver as two-point home favorites on Feb. 10, while going OVER the posted total of 206.  Pierce recorded his second triple-double of the season in that affair, finishing with 27 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high-tying 14 assists.

Denver returns home looking to snap a three-game losing streak, which includes a 119-108 setback to the Brooklyn Nets six days ago, while going OVER the total in nine of its last 10 contests.  The Nuggets are hoping to get Danilo Gallinari and Andre Iguodala back in the lineup, as they missed the last two games.  Gallinari had averaged 20.9 points over his last seven contests, while leading the team in scoring for the entire 2012-13 NBA season.  Denver is 17-8 ATS at home this season, with the OVER going 14-10-1 in that situation.

The Nuggets are 22-3 overall at the Pepsi Center, including an 8-2 mark versus Eastern Conference opponents.  Denver has won seven of its last eight home games against Boston, while the favorite has covered the number in six of the last seven meetings overall in this series.  Point guard Ty Lawson is definitely the player to watch on the offensive end, averaging 28.0 points and 9.0 assists over the team’s losing streak.

Sports bettors will likely back the Celtics due to their 5-2 ATS mark in February, while the Nuggets are 4-6 ATS at home when the total is between 200 and 204.5.
