The Los Angeles Dodgers are 3-7 in their last 10 games

Miami has dropped three games in a row, including a 5-4 setback to the San Diego Padres as +116 road underdogs Sunday, while going OVER the betting total in each of those contests.  The Marlins will be led offensively by outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, who has seven home runs and 10 RBIs during a 10-game hitting streak against the Blue Crew.  It’s important to point out that he’s hitting just .217 in 15 road contests.  Miami is 3-9 on the road with a total of 7 or less this season.

Marlins starting pitcher Tom Koehler (3-2, 1.99 ERA) has led the club to back-to-back wins, but he didn’t factor into the decision of a 1-0 home victory over the New York Mets last time out, as he gave up two hits over eight shutout frames.  The right-hander is 0-2 with a 4.15 ERA in three road appearances—serving up three home runs in 17.1 combined innings.  In two career outings versus the Dodgers, Koehler has tallied a 1-1 record and 1.50 ERA.

Los Angeles is 3-7 over its last 10 games, as it looks to bounce back from a 7-4 defeat to the San Francisco Giants as -170 home favorites Sunday, while going OVER the betting total of 6.  Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon is important to handicap in this affair, as he went 9-for-15 against the Giants with four runs scored and four stolen bases.  Outfielder Yasiel Puig has also put together an 11-game hit streak.  Los Angeles is 2-5 as home favorites of -150 to -175 this season, with the OVER going 5-1-1 in that situation.

Dodgers starting pitcher Dan Haren (4-1, 2.68 ERA) has watched the team alternate wins and losses over his last four trips to the mound, as he earned a no decision in a 3-2 road defeat to the Washington Nationals last time out.  The right-hander is 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA in three home games, with opposing batters hitting .230 against him.  In nine lifetime starts versus the Marlins, Haren has gone 1-6 with a 3.81 ERA.

Sports bettors will likely play the total, as the OVER is 7-3-1 in the Marlins’ 11 games this month.
