MLB- National League Races
As we near the mid-point of the baseball season—no not there yet—I’m looking at where everyone is in the NL.
1)The Cubs have a six-game winning streak! But Milwaukee, a team that’s won three straight, is still 7.5 ahead.
2)Despite a disastrous two weeks, Atlanta is only 3.5 games behind the Mets.
3)St. Louis is in third place but 10.5 games out.
4) No hope teams in the NL are Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Houston, Washington and San Francisco.
5)San Diego, Los Angeles and Arizona are all within one-half game of one another. No one seems to be pulling away. But the Padres have only allowed teams a total of 259 runs—fewest in the Majors!
6)The Phils have given up 402 runs while scoring only 399! Yet, they are right behind the Mets and tied with Atlanta for second.
7)Washington has scored the fewest runs (294).
8)Milwaukee is 30- 13 at home! Best home record of any team. On the road they are 16- 19. Worst road record of any first-place team.
9)Wild Card clubs right now are the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Cards, Phillies and Braves.
10)Colorado has the worst current losing streak—six.
Five teams have been eliminated (not statistically but emotionally and realistically) in the NL. More teams are in contention in the Senior Circuit.
