The 2006 NCAA football season kicks off today, and even before today the Heisman Trophy predictions are already taking form. Adding more fuel to the pre-season NCAA football fire, Pinnacle has released updated odds on who will be crowned the nation’s number 1 collegiate player.
Pinnacle is currently listing Notre Dame Quarterback Brady Quinn as the preseason chalk to become the Heisman Trophy winner at 3/1 odds. Quinn would become the Irish’s 8th Heisman winner if he took the crown. Oklahoma’s junior running back Adrian Peterson has been listed with the second best odds to win college football’s top honor at 4/1. Dual threat quarterback Troy Smith ist listed at 9/1. If Smith took the crown he would be the first Buckeye player to win the prestigious award since running back Eddie George would pulled off the feat in the 1995 season.
