The Georgia Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Georgia has lost five of its last six games, including a 64-53 setback to the South Florida Bulls as 3.5-point road underdogs, while going OVER the total for the first time in five opportunities this year.  The Bulldogs are led by sophomore guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who has been the leading scorer in all seven games this year, averaging 17.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.  Georgia is 5-18 ATS when taking on teams that allow 64 or fewer points since 2010, which is important to consider when making your college basketball picks against the spread on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs will take the next 11 days off for Fall Semester final exams after this affair, as they’ll open up a five-game homestand on Dec. 15.  Georgia returned 62 percent of its scoring and 76 percent of its rebounding from a season ago, while the current roster played 68 percent of the minutes.  Offensively, the team is struggling to find a true No. 2 option offensively, as five players have finished behind Caldwell-Pope in the box score.

Georgia Tech returns home from its only road trip of the pre-conference season, as it begins a stretch of seven consecutive games at McCamish Pavilion.  The Yellow Jackets have alternated wins and losses over their last four games, coming off a 75-62 loss to the Illinois Fighting Illini as 10.5-point underdogs.  Every player suiting up for the program Tuesday night is from the state of Georgia, with seven being from the Atlanta metropolitan area.  Georgia Tech is 0-2 ATS when playing at home when the total is 119.5 or less over the last two-plus seasons.

The Yellow Jackets have held a lead well into the second half in both of their losses during the 2012-13 campaign, which is significant when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Georgia Tech has not played a game closer than nine points this season, with its four wins coming by an average of 14.8 points, while its two losses by 12.0 points.

Sports bettors will likely back the Yellow Jackets due to their 5-0 ATS mark at home, while the road team is 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings in this series.
