South Carolina is looking to seven its Southeastern Conference record at 3-3, but it did step outside of major competition to pick up a 41-10 victory over Furman as 37-point home favorites last Saturday, while winning the statistical battle for a fifth consecutive affair.  The Gamecocks are 1-9-1 SU all-time against the Tigers, which is important to consider when making your Week 9 college football betting picks, but they’ve dropped all three road meetings in the series.  South Carolina is 9-4 SU and 8-5 ATS versus teams with a winning record the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 8-5 in that situation.

The Gamecocks have totaled 500-plus yards in back-to-back games, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting lines, as that’s the first time they’ve accomplished that feat since the 2012 campaign.  South Carolina has won 13 of its last 19 true road games, with four of the six losses coming against top-25 opponents.  senior quarterback Dylan Thompson will need to come up with a major performance, as he’s completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 1,839 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Auburn had its five-game win streak snapped in suffering a 38-23 defeat to the Mississippi State Bulldogs as two-point road favorites on Oct. 11, while going UNDER the betting total for the third time in four affairs.  The Tigers have been at their best defensively in the second half this season, as they’ve surrendered just 34 points in the final 30 minutes of play to their foes.  It’s important to point out that the school has just a plus-four turnover margin, but it has outscored its opponents by a 50-21 margin.  Auburn is 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Tigers are second in the country with a 13-game home win streak, which has been helped by a perfect 12-0 mark at Jordan-Hare Stadium under second-year head coach Guz Malzahn—owning a 41.4 to 17.7 scoring margin in those matchups.  Auburn has a dual-threat quarterback under center, with Nick Marshall ranking second on the school’s all-time list with 1,560 rushing yards.

Sports bettors will likely back the Tigers due to the Gamecocks being 9-12 ATS versus SEC foes.
