The Alabama Crimson Tide have won all seven of their October games since 2012

Alabama is 4-0 SU and 1-3 ATS to open up the season, as it comes off a 42-21 victory over the Florida Gators as 14-point home favorites on Sept. 20, while winning the statistical battle by at least 145 yards in every affair.  The Crimson Tide have been very pleased with the play of quarterback Blake Sims, who completed 23 of 33 passes for 445 yards and four touchdowns last time out, which is important to consider when making you Week 6 college football predictions.  Alabama is 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in the month of October since the start of the 2012 campaign.

The Crimson Tide have a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate in wide receiver Amari Cooper, who finished with 10 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown versus the Gators, while they always maintain balance with one of the best running back stables in the country—led by Derrick Henry and T.J. Yeldon.  First-year offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin has been praised by many pundits thus far, as his group is averaging 42 points and 335.8 passing yards per game.

Mississippi has also won its first four games of the season, as it prepares to play its second Southeastern Conference affair, while it has gone UNDER the betting total in three of those opportunities.  The Rebels are very talented defensively, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting lines, with the group being led by defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche and safety Tony Connor.  The stop unit is the best on the SEC statistically—surrendering just 8.5 points and 248 total yards per game.  Mississippi is 4-8 SU and 8-4 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons, with the UNDER going 7-5 in those 12 contests.

The Rebels will need a solid game out of three-year starter Bo Wallace under center, as he’s completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,271 yards and 11 touchdowns with six interceptions.  Mississippi has a couple key targets for him in the passing game, with Laquon Treadwell and Cody Core having 20 and 17 receptions respectively.

Sports bettors will likely back the Crimson Tide due to the road team covering the number in five of the last six meetings in this series.
