The Maryland Terrapins return home after winning back-to-back road games

Ohio State has won and covered the number in its last two games since suffering its only loss of the season to Virginia Tech on Sept. 6, as it comes off a 50-28 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats as 17-point home favorites last Saturday.  The Buckeyes are 7-3 SU in true road openers since 2004, which can’t be ignored when making your Week 6 college football betting picks, especially since the program has won all eight of its Big Ten Conference road games under Urban Meyer.  The OVER is 4-0 in the team’s last four games in the month of October.

The Buckeyes racked up 710 yards of total offense last week, with signal-caller J.T. Barrett accounting for 409 yards of that total, which is important to consider when looking over the college football betting lines.  Barrett has thrown for 10 touchdowns in his last two games and has really grown into the role under center since being rushed into action after Braxton Miller had season-ending surgery before the season opener.

Maryland returns home after picking up back-to-back road victories over the Syracuse Orange and Indiana Hoosiers as 1.5 and 2.5-point underdogs respectively.  The Terrapins are actually getting out-gained by an average of 17 yards this season, as their defense is giving up 200.6 yards on the ground and 234.2 yards per game through the air.  It’s important to point out that the program is 7-14 SU in its last 21 conference home games, with the average loss coming by 15 points and wins by 11.  Maryland is 1-6 ATS in its last seven affairs following a SU win.

The Terrapins have a major weapon offensively in dual-threat quarterback C.J. Brown, who has been responsible for 49 career touchdowns—four shy of the school record in that category.  He has some big-time targets on the perimeter with Stefon Diggs and Deon Long being the first pair of receivers to have gone over 100 yards in the same game since 2011 last time out.

Sports bettors will likely back the Buckeyes due to the Terrapins being 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games after allowing more than 200-plus yards rushing.
