Louisiana Monroe has won its first two games of the season, including a 38-31 victory over the Idaho Vandals as 11-point home favorites last Saturday, while winning the statistical battle in each of those affairs.  Warhawks quarterback Pete Thomas led the offense last time out, as he completed 24 of his 44 passes for 384 passing yards and two scores, which is important to consider when making your Week 3 college football predictions.  Louisiana Monroe has covered both of its opportunities against Southeastern Conference opponents over the last two-plus seasons, with both games going OVER the betting total.

The Warhawks have forced at least one turnover in 28 consecutive games, which is the second-longest active streak of its kind, as they forced the Vandals into three miscues in Week 2.  Louisiana Monroe lost two games against top 25 opponents by a combined 104-7 score last season, but it beat the last ranked SEC team it faced—picking up a 34-31 victory over Arkansas in 2012.

LSU is set to play the second game of its four-game home stand on Saturday night, as it looks to improve upon its 29-0 SU record at Tiger Stadium against non-conference opponents under head coach Les Miles.  Tigers quarterbacks have combined to complete 20-of-39 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions this season, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football lines.  The program has also played 16 true freshmen in the first two weeks.  LSU is 15-1 SU and 8-8 ATS at home since 2012.

The Tigers own the nation’s longest regular-season non-conference winning streak at 47 games, with Miles being on the sidelines for 37 of those affairs.  LSU is 34-0 all-time against current members of the Sun Belt Conference, including a 2-0 mark in this particular series.  Defensively, the unit has allowed just 206 passing yards, which has led to ranking first nationally in pass defense efficiency.

Sports bettors will likely back the Warhawks due to their 11-4 ATS mark in their last 15 road games.
