Ole Miss opens up Southeastern Conference play on the road for the 10th time in the last 12 seasons, which is important to consider when making your college football predictions, as it looks to improve upon its 48-38-2 all-time record in this rivalry.  The Rebels are coming off an impressive 35-13 season-opening win over the Boise State Broncos—returning 57 lettermen and 16 starters from last year’s squad that went 8-5 and captured the Music City Bowl.  Senior quarterback Bo Wallace is the main player to watch, as he’s the SEC’s top returning passer in throwing for 3,346 yards in 2013.  Ole Miss is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points since 2012.

The Rebels won last year’s league opener with a thrilling 39-35 victory over the Commodores in Nashville, which can’t be ignored when looking over the Week 2 college football odds page.  Ole Miss is playing at LP Field for the second time in three games, while it has compiled a 1-3 SU record against SEC East schools under third-year head coach Hugh Freeze.

Vanderbilt dropped a 37-7 decision to the Temple Owls as 8.5-point home favorites to open up the Derek Mason era, as the program used 23 newcomers in the affair, with 21 of them being freshmen.  The Commodores really had no chance of capturing a victory last week due to seven turnovers, while an astounding 13 players saw their first round of action with the squad on the defensive end.  Vanderbilt is 5-7 SU and 7-5 ATS as underdogs over the last two-plus seasons.

The Commodores have split their four games played at the home of the Tennessee Titans, while they’ve dropped seven of their last 10 SEC openers.  Over their last three conference lid lifters, Vanderbilt has posted a 2-1 record by outscoring opponents by a 78-63 combined margin.

Sports bettors will likely back the Rebels due to the road team being 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in this series.
