Nebraska has dropped back-to-back games for the first time during the 2014 campaign, as it hits the road after suffering a 28-24 defeat to the Minnesota Golden Gophers as 8.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total of 53.  The Cornhuskers will need another strong performance from dual-threat signal-caller Tommy Armstrong Jr., which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting odds, as he completed 12-of-19 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown last time out.  Nebraska is 3-1 ATS on the road this season.

The Cornhuskers haven’t been the same team since running back Ameer Abdullah suffered a minor league injury a couple weeks ago, which is important to consider when making your Week 13 college football betting picks, but he did manage to rush for 98 yards on 20 carries against the Golden Gophers.  He has ran for 1,417 yards on the season—moving him into the No. 7 spot in the school’s single-season rushing list.

Iowa has alternated wins and losses over its last six contests, as it attempts to bounce back from a disappointing 26-24 setback to the Wisconsin Badgers as 9.5-point home underdogs, while the OVER is 4-1-1 in that span.  The Hawkeyes are starting to put things together offensively, as their 412 total yards represented the highest total that the Badgers have surrendered during the 2014 campaign.  Iowa is 3-3 ATS when playing at Kinnick Stadium this year.

The Hawkeyes have been pleased by the play of quarterback Jake Rudock, who has tallied 32 career touchdown passes and added eight more on the ground.  He completed 20-of-30 passes for 311 yards and two scores last time out—representing his third career 300-yard game.  Iowa will plan on attacking Nebraska’s secondary in this Big Ten Conference matchup, especially since wide receiver Kevonte Martin-Manley has 1,713 career receiving yards.

Sports bettors will likely back the Hawkeyes due to their 6-2 ATS mark in their last eight games after staring the season with three straight point spread defeats.
