Rice is enjoying a 6-0 SUATS run, which is important to consider when making your Week 12 college predictions, as it has also won the statistical battle by at least 50 yards in all of those contests.  The Owls have dropped three of five all-time meetings in this series, including both that have taken place at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.  It’s important to point out that the program has fallen in defeat in its last 23 games versus top-25 opponents.  Rice is 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS as underdogs of 10.5 to 21 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Owls have won 23 games since the start of the 2012 season, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting odds, as that number represents the most over a three-year stretch in school history.  During the team’s six-game run, Rice has outscored the opposition by a 100-34 margin in the second half.  Defensively, the team has held opposing running backs to an average of 3.0 yards per carry over its last six affairs.

Marshall has never lost to a school from Texas when playing at home, while it has compiled a 17-5 SU record under head coach Doc Holliday after Oct. 28 in his four-plus years on campus, including a perfect 10-0 mark at home.  The Thundering Herd have a Heisman Trophy candidate in quarterback Rakeem Cato, who has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 41 consecutive games.  He’s a big reason why the team leads Conference USA in averaging 47.8 points per game.  Marshall is 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points the last two-plus seasons.

The Thundering Herd have won 31 of 39 games when it has as many or fewer turnovers  than their opponents under Holliday.  Marshall is converting 50.9 percent of its third downs on offense, while it has held opponents to a 30.3 mark on the other side of the football.

Sports bettors will likely back the Owls due to their 10-7 SU and 12-5 ATS mark on the road the last two-plus seasons.
