Bowling Green is coming off a 10-4 season in 2013, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds page, as it included its first Mid-American Conference Championship since 1992.  The Falcons and Hilltoppers have met one time prior to Friday night’s contests, with Bowling Green picking up a 41-21 victory in 2007.  It’s important to point out that this is the only program in the country to increase its win total by at least two games in each of the past four seasons.

The Falcons will be led by first year head coach Dino Babers, who comes to Northwest Ohio after two successful seasons at Eastern Illinois, as he’ll likely benefit from the return of 16 total starters.  Bowling Green returns five All-MAC performs, with everyone focused on running back Travis Greene, who rushed for a school-record 1,594 yards last year—averaging 5.7 yards per carry and hitting pay dirt 11 times.

Western Kentucky begins its 95th season of football and first under head coach Jeff Brohm, who became the school’s 19th front man on Jan. 10, 2014, which is important to consider when making your college football predictions.  The Hilltoppers enter their first season as members of Conference USA after a five-year run in the Sun Belt Conference, while they also look to extend their streak of winning seven or more games to four consecutive seasons.  Over the past 20 seasons, the team is 16-4 SU in hope openers.

The Hilltoppers have put together a dismal 12-24-3 SU all-time record against MAC opponents, but they haven’t played such a contest since becoming a full FBS member.  After going 0-12 against non-conference foes in its first three years as an FBS team, Western Kentucky has turned it around by capturing seven of 10 such affairs over the past two seasons.  Brohm has one of the youngest rosters in the country, with 65 freshmen and sophomores making up his 105 fall camp chart.

Sports bettors will likely back the Falcons due to their 6-0 ATS mark as road favorites since 2012.
