Wisconsin is coming off an undefeated non-conference schedule, as it looks to win its 11th consecutive Big Ten Conference opener, which is important to consider when making your college basketball predictions.  The Badgers have won their first 13 games despite playing the country’s seventh-toughest schedule—owning six wins over the RPI top 100.  Offensively, the team is one of two in the conference with five players averaging nine or more points per game.  Wisconsin is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games.

The Badgers have won six straight games against the Wildcats by an average of 18.7 points, while they’ve won the rebounding battle in the last 12 meetings.  Wisconsin has two players from the Chicagoland area, with senior Ben Brust and junior Frank Kaminsky returning home, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  The squad is averaging 75.1 points per game—an increase of 10.1 from a year ago.

Northwestern had its three-game winning streak snapped last time out, as it suffered a 57-56 setback to the DePaul Blue Demons as 4.5-point home favorites last Friday, while going UNDER the betting total for the fourth time in five contests.  The Wildcats are led offensively by senior Drew Crawford, who is averaging 16.4 points per game and is currently the active career scoring leader among Big Ten players.  Northwestern is 1-6 ATS in its last seven games versus teams with a winning record.

The Wildcats have been stingy on the defensive end in their last four games, as they’ve allowed opponents to shooting a combined 32.9 percent from the field overall and 21.1 percent from three-point range.  Northwestern is gonna need a major performance from Tre Demps to pull off the upset in this spot, as he’s averaging 11.0 points per game—the most by any non-starter in the conference.

Sports bettors will likely back the Badgers due to the favorite going 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings, while the UNDER is 7-1 in the last eight meetings at Northwestern.
