Villanova had its six-game winning streak snapped last time out, as it suffered a 101-80 defeat to the Creighton Bluejays as 2.5-point road underdogs Sunday, while going OVER the betting total for a second consecutive contest.  The Wildcats have four probable starters averaging in double figures, with guard James Bell leading the way at 16.1 points a contest, which is important to consider when making your college basketball predictions.  The program has dropped three of its last four meetings in this series, while posting a 4-5 mark at the Dunkin Donuts Center under head coach Jay Wright.

The Wildcats are 44-11 SU when scoring 70 or more points over the last two-plus seasons, including a 20-1 mark when accomplishing that feat during the 2013-14 campaign.  Villanova has surrendered 68.0 points per game over the course of the entire season, while that number is up a bit to 70.4 during Big East Conference play.

Providence snapped a three-game losing streak last Saturday, as it tallied a 84-61 victory over the DePaul Blue Demons as 11-point home favorites, while going OVER the betting total for the fourth time in five contests.  The Friars are 37-53 SU all-time in this series, including a 24-16 mark when playing at home, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Offensively, the team has four of five probable starters averaging in double figures, with guard Bryce Cotton leading the way at 21.2 points a contest.

The Friars are 1-3 SU versus ranked teams this season, with one of those setbacks coming in a 91-61 defeat to the Wildcats on Jan. 5.  Providence receives 92 percent of its offensive output from its starting lineup, while Cotton leads the country in playing 39.5 minutes per game.  The squad also ranks first in major college basketball in shooting 78.8 percent from the charity stripe.

Sports bettors will likely back the Friars due to their 5-1 ATS mark in the last six meetings in this series.
