Rutgers has covered the spread and gone UNDER the total in its last four games, as it comes off a 76-57 victory over the DePaul Blue Demons as three-point neutral-site favorites Tuesday night.  The Scarlet Knights shot a season-high 61.1 percent in that affair, which was a bit of a surprise after failing to eclipse 50 percent in their previous 16 games.  The team will now try to win multiple games in the Big East Championship for just the second time since joining the conference in 1995-96.  Rutgers is 7-10 ATS versus winning teams this season, which is important to consider when making your college basketball picks against the spread.

The Scarlet Knights were able to win last night without a great performance from leading scorer Eli Carter, who was limited to a season-low four points.  He had a team-high 20 on 9-of-15 shooting in a 69-66 loss to Notre Dame as 11.5-point road underdogs Jan. 19.  The program has compiled a 7-13 overall record in this event, which includes two losses to the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame alternated wins and losses over its last four games to finish out its regular season schedule, as it looks to bounce back from a 73-57 setback to the Louisville Cardinals as 11-point road underdogs last Saturday.  “We’ve never gotten to Saturday night,” commented Fighting Irish coach Mike Brey.  The Fighting Irish have won at least one game in each of the last four seasons in this event, while going 8-12 overall under Brey’s direction.  Notre Dame is 4-8 ATS in March the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 7-4 in that situation.

The Fighting Irish have three probable starters averaging in double figures, with senior forward Jack Cooley leading the way in scoring 13.6 points and grabbing 10.6 rebounds per game.  Notre Dame’s current senior class needs two more victories to become the program’s all-time winningest class, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball betting lines.

Sports bettors will likely back the Fighting Irish due to their 4-0 ATS mark following a SU loss, while the Scarlet Knights are 8-9 ATS off a win against a conference rival.
