Manhattan snapped a two-game losing streak by picking up a 64-49 home victory over Saint Peter’s Tuesday, as it now looks to improve upon its 9-3 mark when playing away from Draddy Gymnasium.  The Jaspers have two probable starters averaging in double figures, with senior guard George Beamon leading the way at 18.5 points a contest.  The team’s senior class of Michael Alvarado, Beamon and Rhamel Brown have all scored over 1,000 career points.  Manhattan is 25-12 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons.

The Jaspers are 9-0 SU when holding opponents to fewer than 70 points, while posting a 13-2 SU mark when limited foes to fewer than 80 points—something to consider when making your college basketball betting picks.  Manhattan has limited opponents to 31.3 percent shooting from beyond he arc this season—holding foes to less than 40 percent shooting from three-point range in all 15 of its wins during the 2013-14 campaign.  Offensively, the team ranks 42nd nationally in averaging 77.9 points per game, which is nearly 20 points per game more than its average of 58.3 points during the 2012-13 season.

Canisius returns home to start a key two-game homestand, as it looks to push its current winning streak to four games, which includes a 84-58 victory over the Fairfield Stags as six-point road favorites last Saturday.  The Golden Eagles are 20-4 SU in the Koessler Athletic Center under second-year head coach Jim Baron, including a perfect 8-0 mark this season, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  Canisius is 2-3 SUATS as home favorites of three or fewer points the last two-plus seasons.

The Golden Griffins have three probable starters averaging in double figures, with senior guard Billy Baron leading the way at 23.7 points a contest.  Canisius is averaging 83.4 points per game in its last five contests, while breaking the 80-point barrier in seven of its last eight affairs.

Sports bettors will likely back the Jaspers due to the road team being 8-1 ATS in the last nine games in this series.
