La Salle snapped a three-game losing streak by picking up a 71-63 victory over the Duquesne Dukes as nine-point home favorites last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total for the fourth time in five contests.  The Explorers are 9-2 SU when scoring 73 or more points during the 2013-14 campaign, which is important to consider when making your college basketball betting picks.  Senior guard Tyreek Duren is one of four Atlantic 10 players with 1,500 career points, 450 career assists and 200 career steals.  La Salle is 0-5 ATS in its last five games versus teams with a winning record.

The Explorers have three probable starters averaging double figures, with Duren leading the way at 14.6 points a contest.  La Salle has won seven of its last nine meetings with Massachusetts, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college basketball odds page.  It’s all about holding a lead with five minutes to play for this program, as it has compiled a 52-3 SU record when doing so since the start of the 2011-12 season.

Massachusetts has dropped three of its last four games, including a 73-68 defeat to Saint Joseph’s as 3.5-point road underdogs last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total in each contest during that span.  The Minutemen shot 49.1 percent from the field, while holding the Hawks to just 41.2 percent shooting, but the outcome was determined at the charity stripe.  The squad made just 12 of 20 free throw attempts, while its opponent knocked down 25 of 40.  Massachusetts is 6-2 ATS in its last eight home games versus teams with a losing road record.

The Minutemen entered their last affair ranked in the top 50 nationally in numerous categories, including scoring offense, scoring margin and field goal percentage.  Massachusetts is also happy to end a stretch of playing five of six on the road—despite the fact that it had posted a 8-3 record in road/neutral games before falling in its last effort.

Sports bettors will likely back the Minutemen due to the favorite being 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in this series.
