Boston College snapped a five-game losing streak by capturing a 75-68 victory over the Clemson Tigers as 1.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the total for a third consecutive contest.  “They’re able to share the ball well and spread you out,” commented Hurricanes coach Jim Larranaga in preparing for this game.  The Eagles have split 16 meetings in this series since the Hurricanes joined the Atlantic Coast Conference, but have dropped the last five.  Boston College is 7-1 ATS as a road underdog of 12.5 or more points over the last two-plus seasons, which is important to consider when making your college basketball picks against the spread Tuesday.

The Eagles suffered a 60-59 setback to the Hurricanes as six-point home underdogs in the first meeting this year, while going UNDER the posted total of 127.5.  Boston College has lost its six conference games by a combined 40 points, which averages out to 6.7 on average.  Freshman and sophomores have played 3,942 of the 4,225 minutes that have been available on the floor for the program this year.

Miami has won nine games in a row, including a thrilling 79-78 victory over the NC State Wolfpack as a pick’ em last time out, while going OVER the total for the third time in four opportunities.  “Our focus level has to to be at an all-time high,” stated Hurricanes center Reggie Johnson, who missed the first meeting against the Eagles.  The Hurricanes are the first ACC school not named Duke or North Carolina to start 8-0 in conference play since 1981.  Miami is 9-2 ATS as a favorite this year, which is important to note when looking over the college basketball odds page.

The Hurricanes are 9-0 at the BankUnited Center during the 2012-13 campaign, as they’ve managed to shoot better than 42 percent on this floor in eight of those contests.  Miami sophomore Shane Larkin earned National Player of the Week honors for his efforts versus the Wolfpack and Virginia Tech Hokies, as he averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 38.5 minutes of action.

Sports bettors will likely back the Hurricanes due to their 21-8-1 ATS mark in their last 30 games, while the Eagles are 2-7 ATS on the road versus teams with a winning home record.
