The California Golden Bears are 0-5 ATS at home this season

Washington is set to open conference play with three road games for just the fourth time in the last 70 years, as it comes off a 68-63 victory over the Washington State Cougars as 4.5-point underdogs Saturday, while going OVER the posted total of 127.5.  The Huskies are eighth in the Pac-12 Conference in averaging 70.7 points per game, but that’s the lowest average in the Romar era.  Washington is 8-5 ATS as an underdog over the last two-plus seasons, which can’t be ignored when making your NCAA basketball picks Wednesday night.

The Huskies have four players averaging double figures, with junior guard C.J. Wilcox scoring 18.4 points per game, but he’s been limited to 12.8 on the road.  It’s still important to note that Wilcox has scored 20-plus points in seven of the last 10 games.  Washington is 7-0 on the season when shooting 50 percent or better from the field, while going 2-5 when failing to hit that mark.  The program is 3-9 all-time in Berkeley under Romar’s direction, but it did manage to earn a 92-71 win as six-point road favorites in its last trip on Jan. 16, 2011.

California is set to play its Pac-12 home opener after splitting its Southern California road trip, which included a 72-64 victory over the USC Trojans as one-point underdogs Saturday, while going OVER the total for the first time in three contests.  The Golden Bears are second in the Pac-12 in rebounding in averaging 40.2 boards per game, as they’ve won the battle of the boards in 12 of their 14 games.  California is 0-5 ATS at home this season, but 6-1 ATS when playing where the total is 140 to 144.5 at Haas Pavilion.

The Golden Bears are led by the talented backcourt duo of Justin Cobbs and Allen Crabbe, as they’ve combined to score 518 of the team’s 995 points.  Crabbe is a player to watch in the second half—recording 16 or more points in the final 20 minutes in five games this season.  He ranks fourth on the school’s all-time list with 169 3-point field goals made.

Sports bettors will likely back the Golden Bears due to the favorite being 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in this series, while the Huskies are 1-6-1 ATS following a straight-up win.
