Cal & USC Square Off For Pac 10 Conference Title

With College basketball and the NBA seasons in full swing, we have slacked on the blog due to getting all the conference and team previews up for the public to read. Once we get those previews completed, the bloggins schedule will go back to normal. For tonight we have some football info to talk about.

The Pac-10 Championship will be on the line tonight in Los Angeles Coliseum when the Golden Bears and Trojans hook up. What is at stake for the winner is an automatic bowl berth in the 2007 Rose Bowl. California can end a 48-year old drought of not playing in the Rose Bowl by beating USC tonight in what has been billed as the best Pac10 game of the season. In 1959, the Bears lost to Iowa 38-12. In those 48 years, the Trojans have played in the Rose Bowl 18 times and will look to make it 19 tonight.

It will be quite a task for the Golden Bears as the Trojans have won 22 consecutive games against conference opponents when playing at the Coliseum. Some other streaks of note for USC, 31 straight wins overall at home, as well as an 18-0 mark in November with coach Carroll at the helm.

The Bears have covered 3 of the last 4 meetings between the clubs and this years game expects to be a barn burner. Maddux Sports is releasing a conference game of the year pick on this game, so don’t miss getting on board for this easy winner.

The bookmakers have listed USC currently as a 6 point favorite with the game total lined at 54.
