“I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore, Dorthy!� At least, that must be what the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas State Wildcats are thinking. Nationally ranked number two Kansas lost tonight to number 24 Kansas State. That moved the Wildcats (5-0 Big 12) into first-place in the Big 12 and put the Jayhawks (5- 1 Big 12) in second by one-half game.

The Memphis Tigers (19- 0) and the Kansas Jayhawks (20- 0) continue to win, leaving everyone to wonder if both these clubs will run the table and go undefeated. The Tigers most recent contest was against the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Memphis had no problem, winning 81- 73. In their latest game, the second-rated Jayhawks retired the Nebraska Cornhuskers 84- 79.

Okay, as of now, the Pats at favored by plus-12. That down one point. The cause may by the Brady foot cast that Brady was in a few days ago. Brady has a minor high ankle sprain and two weeks to recover from it. I could recover from something like that in row weeks, so I imagine an athlete like Brady who has the finest medical care in the world should be okay and 100%.

The Maryland Terrapins proved that the unrated can take down anyone, including the number one college basketball team in the country, the North Carolina Tar Heels. The first half ended with Maryland on top 41- 35. The visiting Terps scored another 41 in the second half, while UNC managed 45, falling two points short. The final score was 82- 80.

Okay, this is a good weekend to either consult tea leaves or go with a handicapper. Why? Well, the point spread for the Chargers-Patriots game is large—at most betting sites it’s 14 points but a few books have it at 3.5? Hmmmm. I’m confused.
