The Portland Trail Blazers will pick first in the 2007 draft and the Seattle Supersonics will get the second choice. The Atlanta Hawks got pick number three.

The Redwings are a star-laden team facing elimination as they go up against the Anaheim Ducks. Both goaltenders have been tough with Dominic Hasek posting a 1.67 GAA and a .928 SV%. Jean-Sebastien Giguere has also been stellar, with a 1.78 GAA and .935 SV%.
Okay, not only are the Brewers ahead of everyone in the NL West, they have the second-best winning percentage in the NL and are 6.5 games ahead of second-place Houston and 9.5 games ahead of the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals. They are a great home team at 17- 7 and a mediocre road club at 11- 10. They don’t lead the league in any category but in pitching they are near the top in just about every important category. Cleveland beat them on the boards—49 to 41 rebounds. They beat them on the offensive boards—18- 11. They beat them on steals—11 to 3. But Cleveland did not beat them on the scoreboard. In a tough defensive battle, it was the Pistons over the Cavaliers—79- 76 in the first game in the best-of-seven NBA Eastern Final series. (more…)
Joe Torre may be headed into the series of his career and it isn’t even the All-Star break yet. The Boston Red Sox will be in the Bronx for a three game series starting tonight and with the Yankees unable to “buy� a win (literally and figuratively), you’ve got to figure that the axe may fall anytime on the renowned New York skipper.
The Ottawa Senators are in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time ever. They did it by beating the Buffalo Sabres 4 games to 1, including a 3-2 OT win in the final game of the series.
So, in the Eastern Conference finals the question is can the Pistons stop LeBron James? James has had a dynamite post-season, averaging 27.3 PPG while dishing off an average of six assists and grabbing 6.7 rebounds.
The New York Mets are looking as good as or better than the Mets of last season. The New York Metropolitans (28- 14) are at .667, have won 4 in-a-row and are 8- 2 over their past ten games. (more…)
Up-tempo, penetration, passing out along the perimeter and shoot—that’s the basic Warrior way and coach Don Nelson’s blueprint for creating three-point opportunities. Although the last seed Warrior lost to the fourth seed Jazz in the first game of their Western Semifinal match-up, it was more of one team outlasting the other than Golden State Breaking down.
The Detroit Pistons defeated the Chicago Bulls handily in game two of the Eastern Conference Semifinals 108- 87. By the end of the first quarter it was 34- 18 and by the half 58- 43. That marked the second home court victory in a row for the East’s first-seed Pistons.
