Colts Win or Patriots Win?
Here are a few things to look for in this match up.

So, I admit it—I am preoccupied with the weather for the Saints- Bears game on Sunday. For one thing, I live in New England where the weather tends to be difficult to predict and very fickle (winter finally got her a few days ago). Second, I’ve seen the weather affect a lot of football games (remember not that long ago—the Snow Bowl?). And, finally, the Pats and Colts are playing in a dome, so the New Orleans- Chicago game is the only one on the docket where the weather will be a factor.
That’s the question burning in my brain after having considered the offensive stats of both teams, comparing Brees to Grossman and looking at both defenses. After careful consideration the lines have changed a bit with Chicago no only a 2 to 2.5-point favorite (the home field advantage is 3 points). (more…)
Going into the big Championship game against the Colts, some New England Patrtiots are dealing with the flu. WR Troy Brown, OT Ryan O’Callaghan, and DL Mike Wright all missed part of Thursday’s practice due to the flu. (more…)
No one can argue logically that Peyton Manning is a mediocre QB. Or that he’s not a great QB. He is one of the best of the best. But the Lombardi Trophy has managed to elude the man with the rifle-accurate arm, competitive spirit and QB pedigree. Is this Manning’s time finally? (more…)
No they do not have the best record in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks can lay claim to that. But at 30- 8 (.789 PCT) and having won 26 of their last 28, the team from Phoenix is running like a finely tuned racecar. The team has 6 guys who are averaging 10 or more points per game, the club is averaging 111.4 points per game and field goals at 50% and 3-pointers at 40%!
Okay, if you picked the Bears—they did not cover! If you picked the Chargers—they did not cover! Although one of two NFL favorites won on Sunday and one of two won on Saturday—none of them covered! (more…)
The Saints beat the Eagles 27- 24 but NOT the point spread. The underdog Colts won in Baltimore by a score of 15- 6, sending the Ravens back to their nests. Here’s a few things to take from both contests. (more…)
The New Orleans Saints are anywhere from 5.5 to 6-point favorites tonight when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Big Easy. There are good reasons for the Saints having that advantage and here they are.
Sure they have an amazing offense, especially when going to the air. But they are going up against an equally dynamic defense– that of the Baltimore Ravens. Indy goes to the Ravens’ home turf as 4-point underdogs but they can certainly still win and this game won’t be over early (at least as far as Indianapolis is concerned.
Well, if you watched the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Indianapolis Colts, you must have thought that you were watching something made up by Edgar Allen Poe, Stephen King or Rod Serling. It was grotesque. It was bizarre. It was unbelievable. (more…)
It’s great that sporting events can be so unpredictable, except when you bet on the wrong team. The defeat of #5 Duke by unranked Virginia Tech is an indication of the unpredictable play and results we’re going to see this season in NCAA hoop. (more…)
If you’re looking for an upset during the first round of the NFL Playoffs and you think a big spread is the way to go, then the visiting New York Jets at +9.5 in New England may be for you. But I’m no expert.
It’s time for the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and LSU. You can catch Brady Quinn and company as they take on JaMarcus Russell and his squad. There’s a lot at stake for the Fighting Irish and for Quinn. Since 1994, Notre Dame has been in eight bowl games and has lost them all, including a 20 to 34 beating last year by Ohio State in the Fiesta.
