Atlanta Falcons Mock Draft Picks
Position Needs for Atlanta
Safety: Chris Crocker is above average and stopping the running but struggled mightily against the pass, namely the deep ball. Croker will eventually take over for Lawyer Milloy and the time is now to replace Crocker via the draft.
Offensive Tackle: The right side of the line and center positions are locked up in long term deals, but the left side leaves much more vulnerability. Wayne Gandy is getting up there in age (36) and backup Omiyale is not the answer.
Defensive End: Patrick Kerney left in the off season (Seahawks) and backups Chauncey Davis and Paul Carrington are not ready to step in.
Draft Outlook for the Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons signed Joe Horn filling a huge whole at wide receiver. A big problem with the Falcons offense last season was all the drop passes by the wide outs. So now in the first round look for Atlanta to snag defensive end Jamaal Anderson from Arkansas with the 8th overall pick to replace the departed Patrick Kerney.
If the Vikings don't select safety LaRon Landry from LSU, snagging him up would be the Falcons dream scenario. If he is gone and they go defensive end in the first look for Atlanta to acquire Michael Griffin from Texas in round 2 to fill the safety void.
