2006 Mid Major Preview
There are plenty of competitive programs found in various conferences throughout the country. We’ve selected 20 of the best mid major basketball schools, all of which have the potential to make a post-season appearance. The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) is well represented with four teams, while Conference USA (C-USA) and the Mountain West Conference (MWC) have contributed three teams each. Other leagues with clubs in our list include the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10), Big South Conference, Colonial Conference, Mid-American Conference (MAC), Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and West Coast Conference (WCC).
What’s the outlook for the Wichita State Shockers? Will the Gonzaga Bulldogs continue their dominance in the WCC? Were the George Mason Patriots simply a blimp on last season’s playoff screen?
