The Power in the Western Conference

Sure the point guard is the on-court general and the center is the bruiser in the middle but what about the power forward? That big guy who’s usually not quite as tall as a center but seems to have more body, muscle and power than your average NBA player.

A sound and versatile power forward is often the one guy in the mix who can do just about anything on the court. He can slash inside and kick it out, tussle amongst various bodies in the paint, hit inside and battle on the boards.

These players usually stand somewhere between 6’ 8” and 6’ 11” (although there are exceptions) and are made of bulk and muscle. They don’t have to be scoring machines, but that quality helps a lot. However, they must have the potential to be where it counts—the right man in the right place at the right time.
