Elton Brand
Brand, standing at 6’ 8”, is considered to be an under-sized power forward. Although that may be the case, he jumps a lot higher that his small frame would indicate. During the playoffs, he’s averaged 42.6 minutes per game. In this post-season, the power forward has been a massive presence, grabbing an average of 10.4 rebounds, blocking 2.73 shots and causing 2.55 turnovers per game. His average blocks per game have gone from 1.80 against Denver to 3.50 when playing Phoenix. In the sixth game against the Suns, Brand was dominant with 5 blocks, 1 steal and 12 rebounds. He also threw in 30 points, helping push the hard-fought series to a seventh game. Brand, known for his work ethic, is one of the best rebounders in the league and is especially impressive when banging the offensive boards to create a second and third shot. He’s a wide body guy with great moves and a smooth inside game. He’s driven to over achieve and win.
Some other forwards that Brand might run into on his way through the NBA playoffs are listed below.
Tim Duncan - San Antonio Spurs
Dirk Nowitzki - Dallas Mavericks
Shawn Marion - Phoenix Suns
