Coach: Jim Leavitt (9th year at South Florida)
Team Name: Bulls
2004 Record: 4-7
2004 Conference USA Record 3-5
2004 ATS Record: 3-7
Returning Starters: 14

Like Cincinnati and Louisville, South Florida will make the jump from Conference USA to the Big East. They return 14 starters total but lose 28 lettermen, the most in the league.

South Florida also gets the short end of the stick having to play 4 conference road games while playing just 3 at home, one of which is against Louisville.

The Bulls allowed 31.9 ppg on defense last season, this must improve if South Florida expects a jump in wins. Eight starters do return to the defensive side, so experience is there, but better play must result.

On offense South Florida has a standout tailback in Andre Hall who racked up 1,357 yards last year. He will be the offensive focal point for the Bulls. The talent at wide receiver is lacking and starting quarterback Pat Julmiste has been erratic in the past. Stability at the quarterback position could come from Auburn transfer Courtney Denson.

If the defense improves and the offense shows stability South Florida should be competitive, but when they will only be favored in 1 conference game topping last years win total will be a tall order.
