6-10 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

6. Marvin Harrison – It may come as a surprise to see Marvin Harrison out of the top 5 fantasy wide receivers but he is turning 34 years old this month. I would not be surprised to see his numbers drop a little bit as his jets may not be as fast as they once were. Despite all that, this is still a guy you want on your team. After all, he does play with Peyton Manning. Last season he put up solid numbers with 1146 yards receiving as well as 12 touchdowns. Harrison is still a very good fantasy wide receiver and will make owners happy once again in 2006.

7. Randy Moss – The last two seasons Randy Moss has not been the premiere wide receiver that he once was back in Minnesota. He only hauled in 1005 yards and 8 touchdowns. He may in fact miss the quarterback play of Daunte Culpepper as Kerry Collins was simply no comparison to the type of QB Moss is used to playing with. Aaron Brooks may be a step up and he is a guy who can throw the deep ball. Moss should have a good season fantasy wise if the quarterback situation improves. Oakland does not have another big time target to take heat off of Moss so that’s why I have him listed at number 7.

8. Anquan Boldin – Boldin is entering his fourth season out of Florida State and has been very good in his first three seasons as a pro. In 2005 he put up 1398 yards receiving to go along with 7 touchdowns. Denny Green loves to throw the football so Boldin should put up even better numbers this year. What keeps Boldin out of the top 5 is the fact that he has stud wide out Larry Fitzgerald on the opposite side of the field taking away fantasy points. Boldin however is a big receiver with tons of upside.

9. Chris Chambers – Despite shaky QB play, Chris Chambers had a very good season in 2005. Chambers racked up 1100 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. Those numbers should get better with the addition of Daunte Culpepper. Chambers is the number one target on a pretty good offense. Look for continued success out of him and look for him to be in the top 10 for fantasy wide receivers this season.

10. Plaxico Burress – Plaxico Burress finally showed signs of the potential that many thought he had early on last season. He tailed off at the end of the year but still put up good enough numbers to place him in the top 10 for 2006. Burress hauled in 7 touchdowns and had just over 1200 yards receiving. I think he can be better this year with Eli Manning only getting better. He is the number one receiver on a productive offense that should improve from last season. Burress is currently going in the fourth round of many mock drafts and would be a bargain if you can get him that late.
